Scalea is surrounded by sea and mountains, a traditional place where you can enjoy the true Italian lifestyle.
Scalea is a family place. We went there like the Italians, with our two children and their grandparents. (yes, Italians and Spanish tend to take their holidays as a family unit!). We all had a great time at the beach and walking around the town during the evenings.

The locals were very friendly and welcoming. We tried the local specialities including the Limoncello, an alcoholic drink made with lemmons and drank chilled after your meals.
But if you like to travel alone and happen to like Scuba diving, this is also a place for you. The beaches boast fascinating caves and cliffs.
For more places to see in Scalea and some more resources on the area you can visit my hub on Scalea.
