This time I am planning to go for Bikaner Camel Festival Tour, Festival Duration is 30th to 31st December.

My tour to Bikaner Camel Festival will be organized by Ashoka Holidays, I have very good tour experience earlier in my amarnath yatra with this Travel Agent in India.

Rajasthan is the land of beautiful forts, exquisite monuments, charismatic palaces, flora & fauna, art & crafts and above all, various festivals and fairs. Bikaner is an intricately planned town in Rajasthan and among one of the fascinating places in the state, that has generated considerable interest among the tourists. Bikaner Camel Festival is celebrated on a grand scale in Rajasthan that draws thousands of tourists every year during the celebration. For two days every year, the city of Bikaner comes alive with the celebration of the Camel Festival. The Camel Festival is organized every year by the Department of Tourism, Art & Culture, Rajasthan, with an intention of attracting more and more tourists to this city which is famous for its camels.

Camels have a very significant place in the history of Bikaner and in order to acknowledge the importance of this useful animal and their tremendous contribution in easing up life at Bikaner, the camel festival is celebrated every year at a large scale. The festival starts off with a parade of beautifully decorated camels from the Junagarh Fort. The camel owners make sure that their camels do not look lesser than the other camel. The fantastic procession of these magnificent animals, bedecked with stunning Rajastani textiles in brilliant colors, leaves the onlookers enthralled. The grace and charm of the brilliantly ornamented camels leave the onlookers mesmerized. The procession moves to the Polo grounds, where it finally concludes.

The wonderful festival carries on with a number of other activities like tug-of-war contest, camel dance puppet shows, and acrobatics etc. Competition of best breed camel, best decorated camel and best fur cut design of camel is also held. In the camel dance, you will see camels dancing perfectly to the command of their trainers, flaunting an incredible footwork. The audience cheers the camels with their applause while the anklets express their appreciation by tinkling along with every step. This is one event that leaves everyone almost breathless. At night it's time to celebrate, as renowned musicians from Rajasthan and local folk performers entertain the crowds at the Bikaner Camel Festival. The festival reaches its culmination with the spectacular fireworks that are a virtual treat for the eyes.

One of the most popular and sought after events of Rajasthan, the Camel Festival attracts lots of visitors from not just India but also the rest of the world. And above all, it is a time when tourists flock in large number to witness the rural lifestyle and culture of the Rajasthan.
